Hello everyone. Being a long time reader of these forums, I've finally come to post here myself.

Simple question: Where do you think an above average 2+2er would make the most money; playing 4 tables of partypoker 3/6, or playing 4 tables of partypoker 5/10, of course assuming same amonut of time. And how much would it differ?

All comments appreciated, thanks

obviously it depends on how good you are.

I agree, mathematically you would of course make more playing 5/10, but you must factor in your skill level, and that of your opponents.

I think you can make more on 3/6 if 5/10 is rocky that night.

It seems so anyhow.

What I meant to ask was how big the difference would be if the same player (or two equally skilled players) played at these two levels. Let's for the sake of the discussion say you make 2BB/100 hands playing 5/10 (again, this number is totally irrelevant, but we use it to have something to compare to). How many BB/100 hands would you make on the 3/6 level?

There is no direct corellation. B/C you make X at game/limit A doesn't mean that you make f(X) at game/limit B. My post earlier was a link to the Search on the forum. This topic has been thoroughly discussed.

You'll make less.

The number is not completely irrelevant. If the player is a +3 BB/100 player at 5/10, then he would have to make 5/100 at 3/6 to have the same earn rate. Even though he would likely dominate the 3/6 game, he probably wouldn't be able to find bad enough players to make that much.

At the same time, someone who was a .5/100 player at 5/10, would probably do much better playing 3/6, and maybe even 2/4, especially when you factor in the larger variance and bankroll requirements.

I don't know where the breakeven point is, but I would guess that it is somewhere between those points.

Good luck,
play well,

Bob T.
