the australian government sought an independant report on the US military commission set up to hear charges against australians david hicks and mamdouh habib who have been held captive in quantanamo bay for the last 2+ years
the conclusion of the report by melbourne queens counsel lex lasry states "these proceedings are and will continue to be flawed and a fair trial of david hicks in the military justice system is virtually impossible"
