I hope youve at least read a few books because average dorm room poker is nowhere near the level of online play.

Plenty of posts on this, but i'll give you my opinion quickly here:

1. Party (best games and most choices)
2. Paradise (best interface)
3. Stars (Best tourneys, but toughest ring games of these three)

4. Give Full Tilt a try if you want a 4th. Not a ton of games, but good interface and is growing. It's a site where a lot of poker pros trying to cash in on the poker internet boom.

Hope that helps a little.

trust me, my college game is pretty good. We have 25 players. 17-18 of them are fish, but the other 8 vary from good to incredible. Zach has been sneaking and winning in casinos for a long time(hes 20 now), and has a secret stash of poker stuff in his closet that would impress any poker enthuisiest( various chip sets/ David Sklansky, Super system, and mike caro' books. A taped copy of the 1973 and 1981 wsop. 500 pages of private notes. Me and him have won about 2k each playing for very, very low stakes in the past 3 months, so im totally confident in my ability to play, but thanks I also am a former JSS /magic the gathering champ.

I would recommend only signing-up at one poker-room to start. There's no need to spread such a small roll across 3 rooms.

You get initial-deposit sign-up bonuses at most sites (except for Pokerstars).
So deposit $250 at party and get $50 for free.

Then build that up and try depositing $500 somewhere else and getting another $100.

Many of us around here are expert 'bonus-whores' (as it were) and it can be quite profitable and a decent way to build a smallish starting roll.

Usually partypoker (and it's skins) are my default room because of the volume of players there and the volume of fish.
There are several other rooms that I have on my computer that I almost NEVER play unless they are offering a re-load bonus.
Pokerroom.com is offering a reload now so will be getting my business for the first time in awhile for example.

Anyway, all of this info is available in the archives. Read through and you will learn much.

Also, if you do sign-up through partypoker you may want to consider signing-up through an affiliate to get some of your rake-back each month (or perhaps some other kind of bonus).

good luck.

Seriously, take the 250 bucks and deposit it in all those prima sites that offer 100% to 150% signup bonuses. That way you'll immediately have around 600 bucks for a bankroll to play with, since they credit your bonus immediately into your bankroll. Play the 100-150 raked contributed hands required on these small bonuses.

After two days clearing the 800 hands needed you'll have 600 bucks minimum even if you just break even.

Now you got a decent bankroll for just a couple days playing. Oh yeah, find a friend or someone to refer you to these sites and split the referals, that will give you another 100 or so bucks on top of the signup bonuses. So 700 plus bankroll for playing even poker this way.

Just my opinion. I'm sure I'll get flamed for not recommending Party or its skins.

I thought the primas were stingy about limiting you to joining one or two. Did I thunk wrong?

In my opinion, stick to one site and bonus whore before moving on to the next.

Paradise has the easiest to clear bonus imo.

Pacific has the softest games imo.

With $250 and that confidence, I'd start out at 1/2 and see how well I do. If I hit $150 I'd drop down to .5/1 or move up to 2/4 once I hit $600.

You thunk wrong. I've confirmed it with customer support. They even know you have an account at another site as they automatically give you the same screen name at each site.

They look out for the same person joining the same site twice or more. That's a no no. But all Prima sites you are free to join once. At least for the first 15 I joined. There's still another 16 or so to go if I desire so.

I'm trying to play all 200 plus sites before I die. Then I'm going to get my name in the Guiness Book of World records.

Hey Dude! Magic 'da Gathering is Sweet. Do you know how it got its name? If any of us is able to get a girl over to our house, its magic.

Anyway, magic the gathering is real cool and we're nothing like those Rocky Horror Picture Show geeks. Hey dude! The Cubbies got nothin on those Cardinals. How can you beat Big Mac? You might get lucky and make the playoffs if the Hawk's knees last through September.

PrimaPoker is awful, the entire chain of programs is networked, you can't make new accounts on any of the other programs they offer.
