I am playing in a $10 Party Poker satellite. I have T800; average is T2000. I have ATs in the SB. There are six limpers. This is a hand I could limp in with, but I decide to push.
I get two calls. One from QQ and the other A6o. The player with QQ was the 4th limper! Obviously, both opponents' play was terrible. I wasn't impressed by all those other players limping. I should be able to win these things more often.
I was a little more than a 3-1 underdog, but I had 3-1 pot odds. If I had just been called by these queens, I would have been a 2-1 underdog with 2-1 pot odds. Obviously, there was a good chance ATs was the best hand. Maybe it was too optimistic to expect to pick up the pot.
Pushing was a pot sized bet. All those limpers made it awfully tempting.
I think I was right to gamble. If I had won the hand, I would have have T4K and I need about T12K to win a seat. And what happened was almost the worse case scenario.
