As he lays down top pair. Or does he?
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)
Preflop: Hero is SB with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/spade.gif. MP2 posts a blind of $2.
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls, <font color="666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 (poster) checks, <font color="666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.
Flop: (8 SB) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(4 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls.
Turn: (5.50 BB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">BB raises</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls, MP2 calls.
River: (14.50 BB) 4/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">BB raises</font>, MP2 folds, Hero really wants to fold, but the pot is so big...
Final Pot: 18.50 BB
I was unsure about the turn 3-bet, I thought the probability I was still ahead + the nut flush draw + ace outs if behind meant it was a 3-bet, but the fact remains that if I'm behind then calling is superior to 3-betting.
On the river, is it an easy call just due to the large pot size?
