As he lays down top pair. Or does he?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/spade.gif. MP2 posts a blind of $2.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP2 (poster) checks, 3 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
Hero bets, BB raises, MP2 calls, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, MP2 calls.

River: (14.50 BB) 4/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
Hero bets, BB raises, MP2 folds, Hero really wants to fold, but the pot is so big...
Final Pot: 18.50 BB

I was unsure about the turn 3-bet, I thought the probability I was still ahead + the nut flush draw + ace outs if behind meant it was a 3-bet, but the fact remains that if I'm behind then calling is superior to 3-betting.

On the river, is it an easy call just due to the large pot size?

I would check-call the river rather than bet, but that would also be easier for me because I would have just called the turn. It's not a pretty call but closing the action, big pot, heads-up, I'd do it.

I hope you didn't get shot like in the song.

I don't see much reason to 3bet turn. Call the raise, see river.

On river, with the way you played it and the betting sequence- I would think that you are most likely behind. I wouldnt consider folding the river for one more bb...... as there is a little glimmer of hope that homeboys 2pair just got counterfeited.

I like the raise on the turn...

You've got major cards to come.

3 2's will give you a str8. Which could be split but it's not a loss.

3 A's will probably win it.

2 T's will probably win it.

9 spades will definately win it.

If he is raising 2 pair, any 4 or 5 non spade will counterfeit his 2 pair.

If I miss, I check/call the river and hope.

My guess...A2. YHING.

Usually a flop call and turn raise means a big hand. I don't like the turn 3 bet.
