They didn't show it. *shrug*

For those who don't know, here's is the pokerpages report of the hand:

5:53 PM
Hand #82, Harrington's button. Arieh opens for $250,000, and Raymer calls. The flop comes 6/images/graemlins/club.gif J/images/graemlins/club.gif 10/images/graemlins/heart.gif. Arieh bets $425,000 and Raymer calls. The turn comes 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif. Arieh checks, Raymer bets $1 million, and Arieh calls. The river comes 4/images/graemlins/club.gif (three clubs on board). Arieh checks, and Raymer moves all in. Arieh removes his sunglasses, stands up, walks around. He looks over at the $5 million, shakes his head in disbelief. He folds. Raymer wins a gargantuan pot. He now has over $12 million.

Are you KIDDING me? This was the hand that basically won it for Greg. There weren't that many hands at the final table, how could you not show this one!???

If I knew the hole cards, I wouldn't be equally as upset as daryn right now /images/graemlins/frown.gif

They didn't even show Savage's proposal.

Maybe ESPN is waiting for it's "WSOP 2005 Best Bluffs" show to uncover the hand in question.

Of course, that's probably just wishful thinking.

At least the producers spent the 5 minutes they could have shown the hand in to show us David Williams' mom about 200 times. She seems like a nice lady and all but I just couldn't find it in me to care.

Yeah, having watched this live with the online coverage, you really don't get the feel for how the final table really went. They didn't show that hand. They didn't show Arieh relentlessly raising every time it was folded to him. They didn't show the T8 hand Greg moves all-in preflop with on Arieh to get him to slow down. They didn't show how Dean blew off all his chips (except his ill advised all-in against Aces). They basically just showed the all-in hands, as usual.

While this was a relatively short final table, there was still plenty to show over a 2 hour period that would have given the viewer more of a sense of the ebb and flow of the play.

There were three hands I wanted to see.

1) Arieh folding King-high flush. Holy sh!t what a read. Of course Murphy could have induced a bet or raise, but still.......

2) Greg's T8 re-raise all-in.

3) Greg's bet on the flush board.

1 out of 3? Ugh.

#1 yeah what a fold. murphy screwed up i think. a check is so right on the river with the flush coming. going all-in seemed bad, bad, bad
(1) small flush might fold
(2) trip kings might fold
(3) can't induce a bluff

of course if i was in the hand, i would have blubbering all over the place with that much money at stake

Sorry to tell you, I wasn't bluffing (except for that turn bet). I had the nuts.

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)
