Final 2 of a 50 person $10 MTT this morning on pokerroom.

I am in the BB and have around 40K chips
Villian is the SB and has around 46K chips.

He had been leading most of the way from the last 2 tables, he was at 60K and I was at 16K. I cought some hands (one big one against him) and briefly passed him with 3 to go.

We have been heads up for about 10-12 minutes at this point.
Blinds are 800/1600. Hero has 9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Preflop: SB complete, Hero Checks

Flop: 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif
SB bets 1600. Hero Calls

Turn 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
SB Checks, Hero bets 5000. SB Raises to 12,500
Hero?

i think i'd push here..

i tend to put him on 78 here, so now he's hit a pair and is open ended so he's getting aggressive.

if he is open ended or on a flush draw, you're giving him really poor odds to hit it, and hopefully he'll look for another spot....

headsup i can't see myself at LEAST calling here, but i really think that going along for the ride and just calling his reraise is building a payoff for him if he hits his draw.

I push, just hope you're not up against a set.

Thanks for the 2 of you who confirmed my action.

I did push and was up against KK.

No real need to mention what the river told, and before I get flamed for this I don't consider this a bad beat, cause

1. 92o vs. KK - I'm pretty far behind in the begining

2. With that board I would see where he thought he was still ahead.

Thanks for the feedback, and 2nd is a lot better than the bubble!

I assume a K, 6, or 7 hit the river.

You absolutely played it perfectly IMO. You took full advantage of your implied odds from him having KK and he hit his 8-outer. Well played!

Thanks for the encouragement.

I almost mucked, thinking he could have had a set, or a better 2 pair. And if it was anything other than heads up I might have mucked and waited for a better chance.
