I already have a PartyPoker account and that is where I mainly play. I have tried to sign up with Empire in the past, but get rejected because I guess you can't have an account at both unless you did it before they instituted their policy?

Is there a way around this? I'd like to get an Empire account too, I hear they have FPP similar to PokerStars and they have just as many players as Party (IIRC they share tables or something?).

Would be nice to get some bonuses/FPP, Party just takes and takes and takes..

Thanks, j.

You need to use another PC where Party software was never loaded.

Before opening an account at Empire, you should ask for for rakeback offers from affiliates.

Ok, if I am able to register an account, will I be able to play on Empire from any computer even if it has Party's software installed too? I only have one computer that I'd like to play on. I have a few laptops I could register from, but playing on them would be horrible.

Thanks for the tip.

Yes, from any computer after you setup the account.

BTW, can you recommend any affiliates that offer rake back? I Googled for some, but most of them said the rake back was part of Empire's VIP club... whatever that means. I assume you have to play a certain number hands or something?

Is there any work around for PC's where you've already installed PartyPoker? I've tried creating a second account on XP, but Empire still noticed Party Poker.

I only know this reliable way. Other people tried different methods but they do not seem to work for everybody.

If you don't mind reformatting that always works.. /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm sure Party puts something in the registry. You can go look in the registry, and even clean Party out of the registry, but that's scary for most people. It would mean you would have to re-install Party again after you installed Empire.

And if you cleaned out the registry, you would still want to do a regular uninstall of everything Party-related. I'd clear out all my temp files too.

Pcmagonline used to have freebie reg editing tools that might make things a little less scary. I'm not saying this would necessarily work either now-- there's always the chance in messing with your registry that you can literally hose your whole system and have to reformat or reinstall windows. Just bringing up an option, is all.
