View Full Version : JJ with overcards on the flop

I'm not quite sure how to handle the following hand on the turn: It's 3/6 Empire Poker. I'm in MP with JJ, suits play no role here.

EP limps, I raise, one more LP caller and BB calls.

Flop: AQ5 rainbow. BB checks, EP checks, I bet, only LP calls.

Turn is a K.

You just check-fold here? I bet and folded to a raise.
What if you're just called and blank on the river. Bet again, or is it then time to check-fold?

Who wouldn't even bet the flop here (vs three oppos in total)?

Thanks,

Steven

That's a nasty flop for Jacks but I would bet the flop when checked to. Probably fold to a check-raise though. How you would play this would depend heavily on your read on LP. If he's a tight player, him cold-calling pre-flop means trouble with this board.

I think you played it fine. I would bet the river generally against an unknown PP/Empire player but you can save a little by paying closer attention to your opponents.
