Comment: at time, I viewed this as push or fold decision – in hindsight, I’m thinking I give UTG credit for AT, KQ, KJ kind of hand – call and push on any rag flop (i.e. no paint/no ace flop), otherwise prepare to relinquish any non set hand to aggression.

I'm a low limit player but this is how i play, i think i do fine in these sorts of situations on the whole.

1) I push
2) I call
3) I fold, i don't like the implied odds of your suggested method, you would have 900 left to push into a 1200 pot, meaning he has to call 900 in a 2100 pot, which he will almost certainly make with 2 overs.

Hand 1: I think that this is close. You'll get to see another hand before the blinds, but this might be a good place to make your stand. Especially since you are first in. Also, you don't want to be third.

Hand 2: I'm probably pushing and weeping/praying on this one.

Hand 3: Highly dependent on the read, I guess.

Hand 1: Push or fold. Depends on texture of game. Either is OK.

Hand 2: Push and hope.

Hand 3: I just hate small pairs and would probably fold -even relatively small stacked I would much rather make my stand with fold equity (ie. as the bettor) than as the caller.

Trying - as best as the cards allow - to make your stand as the bettor and not the caller will reduce your heads up "coin tosses" IMHO

Push, call, fold. I might change my answers to these if the game was particulary non-standard.
