nice to see some obscure family guy lines around here. i've been meaning to bust some out but i wasn't sure if anyone would get it. nh by the way.

I'm pretty sure every college student, and most non-college students, around here would get Family Guy references.

It's only perfect because it worked. That would be results-oriented thinking.

Do you have a read that your opponent is aggressive and will definitely value bet the river? Granted, you know him better than I do, so you could be right, but I know most of my opponents are thinking of monsters under the bed once the river produces broadway and flush possibilities and will check behind. In addition, he may have a hand that he's not willing to bet on the river such as an underpair or A10.

Besides, if you check-raise, there's no guarantee you'll get paid off twice by the original bettor.

I don't agree with you, as usual.

i have no idea what ur talking about man and no i have no read. the guy raised and bet the whole way, why would he get scared of RR flush!? Furthermore there is someone trapped between us who might have something worth showing down and i can trap him.

maybe the guy was just an expert hand reader and knew you had the royal?

Sorry.
I like the line, but am unfamiliar with the reference as I am not one with the Family Guy.

putting people on royals is easy, my eyes were bulging a good two feet out.

the player raised PF, the board is littered with broadway card meaning he's likely to have some type of hand. the likely bettor is to his immediate left, and he can possibly trap MP in as well on the river. the C/R will nearly always be paid off unless its a total bluff, in which case C/Ring is still the better play.

it doesnt take a super read to make checkraising here the correct play. i always laugh to myself when someone goes runner runner monster on me and then doesnt even have the balls to checkraise. "thanks for taking the worst of it and then only getting one bet from me when you got there, sucker!" is what I think.

FWIW, this hand would have won you a $2000-5000 jackpot at my local B&M.

You should have been playing there when you played this hand.

yeah but you would've had to play 8 times as many hours in the casino, so you would've made more than the $2k-5k that the jackpot is worth

I think this hand demonstrates why you can call an EP raise with AQs and not AQo. With AQs, you can always bail yourself out by backing into a royal.

hah - you got an excellent point there.

there you go morewine, according to josh my time is better spent else where. I fart in your jackpot's general direction.

That's great, but before you fart, think about this:

$5k buys a lot of beer and strippers.

Edit: Or one really expensive bottle of wine and one really really high class escort.

hmmmmm..*gurgling noise*....beer and strippers......*drool*
