Has anyone played in the Rockford 5/10 charity game? I've played the 1/3 there and its soo juicy, I know the 5/10 must be tighter, but I was thinking about giving it a shot next time I'm there. A friend of mine says it's pretty soft. Any other thoughts?

I have thought of making the trip but heard the rake was pretty stiff. What are your thoughts on the rake?

Yea, the Rake at 1/3 was definitely bad. I don't know about the 5/10 though. Plus people were tipping the dealers a dollar (sometimes 2!) at 1/3 per hand.

I was in a tough (for 5/10) game because 2 of my friends were sitting in it, but it is definately a juicy one. Rake is sorta stiff, just don't tip /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The rake for 5-10 is 10% max $5 which is the same at 2-5, max rake goes down to $3 if it gets down to 6 players. You have to tip the dealer decently as they get no hourly, it's a "charity" event.

As for 5-10 the toughness depends on if they are able to spread a 10-20 game or if the sharks are stuck with 5-10. For example in 11 hours last Sat for 2 hours the game got very tough then the rest of the time 4-5 saw a flop.

Hope this helps and perhaps I'll see you at 5-10 this Sat.

Was this 2 days ago? If so there was a group of 3 at my table that could play. I shocked one of them when I raised with 2-2 pre-flop. Was that you?
