when are there a lot of low limit hold'em games spread at the taj?

How are the games on saturday afternoons?

It would be my first time in a casino cardroom. I'm thinking about going there this weekend.

Thanks.

You won't have trouble finding a low limit game there on a Saturday afternoon. In fact, you can get into a low limit game there at pretty much any time. I usually go on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon (going this Sunday in fact), and on avg I have to wait maybe 10 minutes to get in a game...

Btw, I usually play stud (low limits - 1-3, 1-5, or 5-10), but I am sure that the same holds true for hold'em (low limits - 2-4, 3-6, or 5-10 I think).

I would advise you to grab a players club card, and check in with it when you start playing. You get 50 cents an hour in comps at the low limits. So if you sit there for 8 hrs or so, you can get a 4-5 comp to the snack bar upstairs, where you can get a burger, fries, and coke for about 5 bucks.

Good luck...don't be intimidated. If you are coming to this site, you are no doubt already a better poker player than 90% of the people there.

One more thing...here is the new player page of Taj's poker website. It tells you what to do to get a seat and other such things, in case you don't know already.

Hey Info,

Low Limit Hold 'Em goes 24/7. There are always multiple 2-4, 3-6, and 5-10 Hold Em games. 2-4 and 3-6 are always good, 5-10 may have a few sharper players but is good almost always. Get a player's card and get $1 an hr for 3-6 and 5-10, 50 cents for 2-4. Im usually there at 10-20 (though not this weekend). The key thing is, don't be intimidated....everyone is new once. Even persuing these pages makes u better than most. Bet and raise your hands strongly. I recommend 3-6 if u can afford it, as the rake is proportionally worse at 2-4 and the games seem to be tighter.

Good luck and Play Hard...

From that link, moving around:

"Poker Snack Bar

For your convenience there is a special take out menu to order from so that you may dine while playing. The menu includes a daily hot lunch special for $6.00."

Are you now allowed to eat full meals WHILE playing? I thought only the Trop did that...?
