View Full Version : Not getting any action?

I'm pulling out of the worst statistical adjustment of my online poker career. My cards have never been that dead, or have I had the occasional good hand get beaten so badly.

That said, my cards have re-adjusted to a more even keel. Now I have a new problem.

No one will play a pot with me. Particularly if I'm first to act. Even known ree-rees won't play with me. Primarily $20-$50 level NL SnG's on Stars.

As an aside, my limit and NL ring is golden.

What gives? Not sure if this is a real question or a rant.

OK, it's a rant. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Help?

if what you say is true (and I high believe it is an exaggeration) then reaise every damn pot and steal - you win all their chips!

Been going thru a simlar problem of late too, all the people I end up with don't want to play with me, at least not all that much.

Something that has worked some what for me... Raise preflop let them all fold and then show them some junk hand like 72 off or 93 off. And then taunt them a little... "you guys are a bunch of lame players to think I have AA everytime. LOL" or the like should get them to play back at you.

I wouldn't raise with junk and show it. Just put in some loose raises. If you get more action, good. If not, just keep picking up the blinds.

IMO, this is not a problem.

Take advantage of their tight play. Contrary to what others are saying, I would never show a junk hand to induce more action. If your opponents want to think you have the nuts everytime you play a hand, there is no reason to not let them keep thinking this way.

I agree, you should def take advantage of this. Steal their blinds or just outright bluff them. There is nothing wrong, IMO, with having this image, especially since it will allow you to play other hands for cheap.

You have a lot to learn about tournaments, my friend.

IMO this is exactly what you want. Steal steal steal and then steal some more!!!!
When someone comes over the top of you atleast you can put them on a legit hand

I'm with you. Just play more aggressive at the begining, especially in late position. If it looks like people want more actions later, then change gears . Its better to manipulate your game to your table and table image than to try and manipulate your table image to fit your game
