Pop back at him when.... you get a new draw? I think you are forgetting that you have one card to come, not two. You are at less than 50% to win against most hands, and he could have A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif and 8 or 9 of diamonds, which you are drawing even thinner to.

I would flat call the turn and see what the river brings.

If you're going to semi-bluff, do it on the flop, while your draw is in better shape, and while a raise can still get you a free card. It also disguises your flush somewhat, should you hit it.

The turn gave him an openended straight draw to go along with the flush draw.

I'd bet the pot at after the flop, as a semi-bluff

After the turn you make a big raise, you must remember, if he calls, he's probobly got a good hand.. 2 pair? then your chances to win the hand is about 30%. Not that great.

You tried a bluff at the turn and it didn't work, well well, he raises 7 more? stupid, now you can call the bet because of the pot-odds.

you call, and hit the card you needed, you're good.

Right, but he was still in better shape on the flop (just how much better depends on exactly what SB holds).
