A friend of mine was in this hand and we had a debate about how best it should be played.

PS 30.00 SnG 5 Handed - All stack not in the hand about equal

Hero in BB (2500 stack after posting 200 BB) Dealt AQx

All fold to Button 3900 stack who min raises to 400.

SB folds:

What is your action?

* I think there are 3 options

1) Reraise a small amount but enough to put pressure on say raise to 1000

2) Reraise all in and put him to the test and try to take down the pot right there.

3) Call only and play from the flop - this keeps the pot small allowing you to play the flop without risking too large a portion of your stack.

Now My initial thought was all in.

After some more thought I am not so sure?

Comments?

I like door number 3.

I like the call and play option. A small raise will not push out the button. You are out of position to play a flop (good or bad). I do not like the all in because it risks too much at that stage of the tourney.

I push all-in unless he has a good feel for what type of mini-raiser he is. Is he the mini-raising type who does so with QJ hoping to get some paranoid folds? Or is he the type who does it with AK, KK, AA, etc.? If you know this, it makes your decision easier.
