A situation I often find myself running into... I'm mostly clueless as to what to do.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: (9 SB) 8/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 2/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, MP2 raises, SB folds, Hero ???

What's my plan going forward?

Here's another one:

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 7/images/graemlins/club.gif, T/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls.

River: (8.25 BB) 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 8.25 BB

Comments on play would be much appreciated.

On the second hand I would guess that UTG+1 had a nine and was drawing to the open-ended straight, or he has a Jack and was trying for the gutshot. Or the club flush, quite a draw happy board really /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Either way it seems unlikely the 2 of hearts could improve his hand so I'd bet the river.

I'm always scared of the overcard coming up. Is it worth it to commit money to the pot against a call station who may or may not have the overcard? I know all about punishing draws and such, but in a small pot like the above what's the proper move?
