I've learned you shouldn't slow play these hands to prevent getting sucked out but I've also learned it's about winning the most money you can, for each pot you win....with that in mind:

Paradise Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t5 (9 handed)

UTG (t2120.00)
UTG+1 (t1000.00)
MP1 (t910.00)
MP2 (t965.00)
MP3 (t995.00)
CO (t880.00)
Hero (t985.00)
SB (t1145.00)
BB (t1000.00)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. SB posts a blind of t5.
guys"UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t10, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls t10, Hero raises to t40, SB (poster) calls t35, BB folds, UTG+1 calls t30, CO calls t30.

Flop: (t170) 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 2/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 bets t10, CO calls t10, Hero raises to t40, SB calls t40, UTG+1 calls t30, CO calls t30.

Should I have made a pot bet on the Flop?

Turn: (t330) 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, CO bets t50, Hero raises to t100, SB folds, "yep"UTG+1 calls t100, CO folds.

Should I have raised more on the Turn, a pot bet, etc?

River: (t580) T/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets t525, UTG+1 calls t525.

Final Pot: t1630
Main Pot: t1630 (t1630), between UTG, UTG+1 and Hero. > Pot won by UTG+1 (t1630).

Results in white below:
UTG doesn't show.
UTG+1 has As Td (two pair, aces and tens).
Hero has Kd Ad (two pair, aces and twos).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins t1630.

Amazing structure, start out with T1000 and big blind is T5. Nothing like getting 2000BBs to start a tourny.

Personally, I'd raise more pre-flop.

On the flop, I'd bet the pot. The only thing you have to worry about is set of nines, twos, or two pair. You are giving all the chasers fantastic odds (10:1 for CO). And the implied odds are insane.

On the turn, I'd bet at least 1/2 the pot if it was heads up, more if there were more callers.

If you bet this hard and the guy hits his two pair on the river it still sucks, but at least you made him make bad decisions to chase and over the long run, you'll win out.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the feedback.

Btw, can you point me to a better structure and why this one is bad, etc...thanks!

This one is good. (or would be, I believe it's 5/10 on paradise)

You get a lot of chips compared to the blind sizes, so you can sit and wait for some real prime spots before getting involved.

Somewhere like Party would be a bad structure, with 800 chips and rapidly increasing blinds.

Paradise is actually about medium in the scheme of things, with stars and ultimate being a bit better.

However, with increased structure comes increased length of tourneys.

This means you get less tourneys per hour, and so you have to do better to make the same hourly rate.

Most people seem to find the smash bang wallop repeat of Party to be the best for hourly rate, but I'd think that beginners, and some other players (Im one) will do better at other, slower sites.
