This is a hand I watched/helped my friend play on TGC. Should he have bet the turn?

Dealt to Hero in BB 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 6 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

3 calls, button raises, Hero calls from BB, all call.

Flop: K /images/graemlins/heart.gif 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif [9 SB]

Hero bets, UTG calls, 2 folds, button raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls.

Turn: 3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif (9 BB)

Hero checks, UTG checks, button checks

River: K /images/graemlins/spade.gif (9 BB)

Hero checks, UTG checks, button bets, (crying)Hero calls, UTG folds

Thoughts?

Yes. Don't fear the flush.

Yep, bet the turn.

If someone has the flush, so be it, but if not, don't give them a free draw to try again. You are more likely facing a AK or KQ than a flush. You won't likely push out any flush draws at this point, nor will you likely push the Kx holders off their hands. But, since you should win more than 1/3 of the time, you want to build up the pot size.

Not betting this turn is awful.
