ok another 10+1 PP SnG. Same friend that pushed with Qh 6h...

this time he's in the sb with Ace 4. There are 4 limpers. blinds at 10/15. he FOLDS. says that its not worth losing 5 chips b/c "you know you are going to lose". i point the 17 to 1 odds hes getting laid jsut for calling, and a potential double up in chips if he hits the flop well. He still says calling 5 chips is stupid. But he will risk 500 with Qh 6h.

is this friend theoretical.

yes, you call with any two if its unraised, even 27.

then rejoice at the A27 flop.

despair is when your all in on it and the other guy hits his ten on the turn or the wet one.

That is not a rejoicing flop.

In order of happiness these are:

777
222
277
722
x77
x22

You won't get much action from any of those flops. An A27 means that you can get a ton of action from someone with a AQ, AJ, A10, etc. You will lose to someone with A2 or A7 and your opponent could suck out on you, but it is hard to double up without gambling a little bit.

On party you will get plenty of action from people who have limped with pockets.

Floping bottom 2pair is a reciepe for disaster. My flops of rejoicing Halleluah all avoid that calamity.

actually only the top two are safe (and by safe i mean least vulnerable).

the rest provide a fair amount of room to lose your stack.

but they are better than 27A i have to admit.

for what its worth, going back to the origional point of the thread. i once called with 27 in the SB. flop came 27blank. someone decided to raise me all in, i couldnt fold and he flipped over AA and lost.

so what this shows is:
raise your good hands
call the SB if the odds are quite nice (just be carefull with what comes)
