I always get nervous here an am never sure what the right play is.

Game is typical:

I raise from middle pos w/ AQs. A limper ahead and a caller behind (SB). I bought the button.

Flop: A 6 4 rainbow Checked to me, I bet the flop and get called by both.

turn: 9 -check, check, I bet ...call, call.

Riv: 2 (no flush pos) checked to me

WHAT IS THE CORRECT PLAY?

Check or bet?

thanks...

With that board you should bet every time. You should have the best hand the majority of the time that anyone calls.

2 on the river? I would bet this hand for value if against 7 opponents in that spot. If you don't think its a good bet then you should be stealing these guys blind by betting your draws all the way to the river.

Here's another one. You over-call on the button with KT and 4 of you take the flop of QT5. They check and you get 2 callers. Turn is 5, 2 callers. River is 7. You should bet this one for value as well.

Without a doubt if you have the lead with a lagitimate hand and have NO reason to belive your are beat on the turn then you NEED a good specific reason NOT to bet the river. Good reason's almost always mean the river was sure to hit the opponents. "Fear" is not a good reason.
