Monitor help needed

In an attempt to see how many tables I could fit on my screen, I temporarily increased the resolution on my 19" monitor up from 600x800. When I attempted to return the resolution back down to 600x800, everything returned to normal, except that the viewable area is now down to an approx. 17" square, with a 1" black strip along each side of the monitor. Increasing the resolution even one "notch" to 1024x768 reduces the size of everything way too much, and there appears to be no other controls to allow me to return the resolution back to a full screen. Furthermore, this problem persisted even after the computer was rebooted.

The monitors controls Vertical/horizontal (right on the monitor itself) should allow you to expand the screen to the full size.

Thanks for the help. I've managed to expand the screen so that there is now only a 1/2" strip on one side...I may have to play with it a little further to fine-tune it.

After playing with it further, I think I have it back to normal.
