Of course not. Only two guys have been better than Schmidt and both of those guys (Ben Sheets and Randy Jonhson) have no chance due to wins and W/L percentage. Two guys have a chance at taking it from Schmidt: Roger Clemens and Carl Pavano. And, yes, I'm excluding all relievers.

yeah Schmidt is still the frontrunner.
Close to him though are Clemens and Pavano.
Roy Oswalt is a sleeper too, he may get some consideration.
Benitez and Gagne will get consideration as well. Benitez has been amazing this year(40 SV's, 1.06 ERA, 57 K's, 2-1 record)
