It looks fine. I am sure I would end up calling the river raise because of the size of the pot but the way the hand was played I don't think you win 1 out of 16 times.

edit: just realized you had him labeled as maniac, so take back what I said about not winning 1 out of 16. Maybe he helped you out by causing better hands to fold.

I don't get the raise preflop...but I will be the first to tell you I have a lot to learn about playing 2 big cards preflop. I would check call the river. You have 2nd pair against 3 weak opponents....but they could still have a queen. The maniac could be playing anything T4, J5, A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, anything.

I think the river bet is pretty thin. I think you win this more often when it goes check call than when you're the one getting called. pretty easy overcall against your typical 3/6 wackjobs.

Dont jump me guys Iam sure thats the right play I use ith starting hand guidee and maybe this is why my pfr is low, but he states to just call is calling and raise a close ev play or am i missing out following his chart?

Bison likes to raise, it's more fun.

I like the preflop raise...I dont raise that flop bet b/c I dont want to get 3-bet.

I would rather just call and be able to raise the turn if a heart falls or the striaght, even another J...with no help I am just going to call down and let him bluff off chipsand this way lose the least when I am behind.

That is not to say that the flop raise is a bad play but when I know I have to showdown I dont want to get too much money in w/ 2nd pair on that flop.

PF: whatever, I don't know why there's so much discussion about it

flop: you could have the best hand, and you have a nice draw also, so raise

turn: ditto

river: you could have the best hand, so bet....maniacs like bluff like they have backdoor flush draws and hit, easy call

Everything is fine, I fear you lost to a ridiculous hand, though.

The maniac turns over K/images/graemlins/club.gif, 4/images/graemlins/club.gif, for the missed straight draw and bottom pair. MHIG.

There wasn't any table chat after this, so I'm not sure if the LOOPYs folded better hands, though I'd be willing to bet that one if not both were waiting with aces in hand for a king to fall.

Note that maniac was probably making an honest attempt at a value raise.

I like it all, especially the river bet.
