so that makes rumors of attempted pot limit and 2-10 stud at ameristar...

DO NOT DO EITHER. if you don't believe me, ask mason malmuth himself in a separate post.

both games will cause much more harm than good, as the limits give good players a signifigant advantage over worse players. the worse players bust out quicker, get pissed, and don't come back. people will limp in with a junk hand, get raised the max, and call. you want many people to sit there as long as possible to get the best rake.

i think 5/10 stud with a .50 ante would be refreshing. there's nothing wrong w/stud, and it doesn't need a shot in the arm - it just needs a decent, structured limit.

as far as pot limit and 2-10 stud go...i'm begging you...don't run off your customers!

I visited your room twice over this weekend, and I was really happy to see that you have a 3-6 hold-em game, as opposed to that silly 4-8 game with the mini-blinds that was around before.

As far as stud goes. I would play stud there regularly if you had a structured game with an ante. 4-8 or 5-10 with a 50 cent ante should do just nicely. The ante gets some actual money in the pot, throw in a couple dollar bring, and you got yourself a card game.

The 1-5, 2-5 spread games without an ante are just too tight passive to make anything. The 2-10 spread games get out of hand, and your newer weaker players will end up losing money too quickly and not come back.

Let's end the pot-limit rumor right now. I am not a big fan of pot-limit, or no-limit. Anyone remember when the Admiral tried it a few years ago, did'nt last very long(a month or so). I'm a structered kind of guy!!

ok, so let's end the 2-10 rumor as well /images/smile.gif

i'd be happy to sit in a 5/10 structured stud game while i wait for a big holdem game, and i don't want players in general getting run out of the casino getting outplayed in hardcore spread limits

2 2/4 tables with no ante (or .25 ante if the casino makes .25 chips and you are willing to hassle with it)

2 4/8 or tables with a .50 ante

you could bump the 4/8 to 5/10 if there was sufficient interest

1/2 instead of 2/4. 2/4 won't work without antes.
