so i had a bad run at the 10+1's, went from 50 initially up to 200 then back to 0 /images/graemlins/frown.gif

so i gotta start over..

so starting with $50 again..
What would you play to build up your bankroll?
SNG's?
Ring play?
Tournaments?
Wait until I can invest more money?

don't go to party!! to much varience at the small buy-in.

I would recommend Stars or UB till you can get a sizable bankroll. Stars has alot of 1-3 buy in MTT with a high payout, UB has 1+.10 singles and miro limit holdem NL/Limit blinds .01/.01

going to party with $50 has a high ROR, but if you do I would start on the .25/50 Limit to build a roll, or play extremly tight at the 25nl table.

good advice, thanks.

I think I'll try the 25 NL table for a few hours and see how that goes.

I would play UB SNGs, alternate some 1$, and 5$ (6-person).

Honestly, if you just don't play reckless, you will finish in the $$ 50%+ If you can win a couple, you will be back to 100+$ in no time. The 5$ (6p) SNG at UB are almost comical. You turn aorund for 45 seconds and you are down to 4. Wait out the 4th, then aggressively go after some blinds. By the time a stack gets short enough to call, all-in againts you pre-flop. You should have 3000+ of the 6000 chips.

Depending on how where you think you r at skills-wise. I would start at 5+1 SNGs at Party, possibly a $10+1. The players are so bad that anyone who picks his spots right with strong hands (sometimes even marginal hands) can be in teh money 1 in 3 tables and eventually will profit. That's how I do it and I have yet to lose my original $50. i only put $50 cuz im a college student.

thats how I Did it too demon..however i cant win if i dont get decent hands..I'll have a run of 5 or 6 tourmants where i get no hands and end up with 700 chips with the blinds at 50/100 so then i push with my A/x hand to steal and get knocked out by the big stack with some hand like 9's

My feelings about this question are probably best summed up by my post on money management which I think is actually in the FAQ so I won't search araound for a link. Basically it doesn't matter what you do with the $50. Your edge is your edge and waiting to deposit more money changes nothing. Play with it now however you want.

Still, for the sake of actually answering your question the way that you want it answered, here is what I would do:

I'd just play 10+1 at Party and if I lost it I'd reload as soon as I could.

Assuming that this was the last $50 that I could deposit for some time, or if I was unsure I was capable of really beating the 10+1, this is what I'd do:

Become a bonus whore

My opinion generally is that most bonuses are not worth your time so long as you can play comfortably at about a 20+2 level or better. You can pretty much make more by just playing and not wasting time hunting for promotions, depositing, withdrawing, waiting, etc...

If you've only got $50 though, this is the way to go.

Hit the truepoker SNG promotion. If you don't win any, no sweat. If you do, cash in your $50 and cash it out.

While you are waiting for your cashout, go to a prima site like gaming club to pick up a free no-deposit bonus. Play ultra tight while clearing this money and hopefully you can even make a bit before you cash it out.

Deposit into a party skin you haven't hit yet for a quick $25 bonus. See if you can get some kind of an affiliate to swing you a deal for extra cash or free poker chips or something. Play ultra tight at a $25 NL table to clear the bonus. You could just fold every hand an the party skins and still come ahead, but I'd play pocket pairs and AK for sets, overpairs, and TPTK and try to make a bit while I was at it.

By now you should be at about $100 at least

Hit a match bonus casino promotion (King Solomons?) and pick up another $50+ while losing at blackjack or some other stupid casino game.

Hit another couple casino promotions and get this to $250

Hit the riverbelle casino promotion with your whole $250 (if a promotion that good still exists) and grab another quick $200 or so

You now have $400-$500

Put $100 into pokerstars and start playing $5+.50 sngs and $3 multitable tourneys.

Put the rest into Party to start playing $10+1 sngs, $25 NL, and .50-$1 limit. If your whoring goes really well, you might even be ok with $1-$2

with $500 in these games you should never go broke if you can play at all

I guess that's just one way of doing it. I'm not even an expert bonuswhore so if you look around you should be able to find about a bizillion dollars in free money people are giving away online.

Start here (http://www.bonuswhores.com) and do a few searches on the Internet forum. The Zoo has a few bonuswhoring geniuses and a lot of threads with feedback on bonus restrictions, cashouts, etc...

I was PM'ed with some questions about Casino whoring so I'll paste a bit of it into this thread if anyone else wants clarification

....

Casino Whoring

A lot of reading online, particularly in the Internet forum is where I discovered a lot of it. I was also a live blackjack player and card counter before I ever discovered poker and the basic principles had a lot in common with comp play and seemed pretty obvious when I discovered online casinos.

the bonus whores site is also good if you link to their 'Casino Whores' page

They miss a few KEY promotions though (In my opinion)

You do have to be careful doing this stuff because some promotions are not actually profitable but a lot of sites have had long standing promotions which are known to be good.

The basic principle is basically:

1. Deposit an amount in an online casino
2. Get a big match bonus or other big bonus - For example, deposit $250 and get a free $250 extra so long as you meet the wagering requirement
3. Make very small wagers in a casino game which has a very very small house edge (blackjack is good usually)
4. lose a little money in accordance with your negative expectation. The minimum wagers will keep variance way down over the long run.
5. Once the wagering requirements are completed, cash out. You will have lost some, but the bonus will still net you a profit if you pick the right promotions.

Some promotions are very profitable, but involve a lot of variance. Others will give you an almost certain and estimable profit.

Keep in mind also that maximum profitability from casino whoring comes with high variance. Ideally you want to minimize house edge and this means fewer, bigger wagers. Unfortunately this means going broke a lot but still gives the best long term extectation.

Most people are more interested in a guaranteed profit and low variance and will settle for low risk, easy money by making a lot of small (minimum) wagers. It really depends on how big a bankroll you have to do this stuff.

Definitely do your research before attempting to profit from any casino promotion. A lot of sites wise up occasionally or change terms and conditions to make promotions unprofitable. Also, in some places conditions are different and a promotion that is good in one part of the world may not be good in another.

I'm really no expert but there are a lot of guys on the Internet forum who are. I've only ever hit 4 online casinos for promotion opportunities. Some guys do this exclusively and are always looking for new opportunities.

I'm sure someone like Lori or another Zooer can give you a good idea of whose posts to search for.

Hope this helps
Brad S

One final point - The toughest part of Casino whoring is to stay disciplined. If you decide that you are gonna hit a site like riverbelle and autoplay the wagering requirement off with minimum bets in blackjack, you are almost better off not even watching. Go to sleep or read a book or something. It gets awfully tempting to bet bigger or to do stupid things like stand on a 16. Play perfect basic strategy and don't try to win. Let your losses conform to expectation and don't try to get fancy or you will lose it all.

Yeah... this has nothing to do with SNGs. sorry
