I think this would be a good spot to check-call the flop, check-call the turn, and bet the river, folding to a raise.

Doesn't this give an opponent with overcards the chance to bet the flop, check the turn? That would suck.

Yeah, you're probably right. My line would probably be more appropriate if he was drawing to fewer outs if he was behind. (Like you are unsure if your kicker is good or whatever.)
