View Full Version : bottom 2
several players limp, some early, some late. None play that well. I am in SB with 45o and call. BB checks.
Is this too loose?
Flop is Kh5c4h. I check, cutoff bets, button raises. I 3 bet, others fold.
Should I be waiting for the turn if I know a K will stay with me to the end? I was worried about neither player betting the turn.
The turn is a good card - 3c. I bet and both call.
The river is Ts. I bet, cutoff calls, button raises, I fold, and cutoff calls the raise.
I was 99% confident button has KT. Am I nuts?
Any comments appreciated. Thanks again.
Dan Z.
If you are 99% certain the button has KT than a fold is in order. You need to have good hand reading skills to make this accurate a read. It
appears like the raiser has two bigger pair, but
is anyone that predictable? Preflop I play in your spot virtually 100% of the time.

Questions: What limit? If the small blind is 2/3
of the big blind, toss a chip in, otherwise fold preflop.
Are you sure the turn card was good for you? I'm not so sure, but I would have bet the turn anyway.
Call the river. Even though it looks like K-10, you're getting probably 14 to 1 on this (or more).
I'm a bit worried about the cutoff, so don't be surprised if you have the worst hand, but there's about a 10% chance you have the winner.
Would it be a wrong play to check call the river?
Might be better, but once you bet the river you're committed.
I like the way you played this hand on every street, unless the button is an expert. If he is, you have to call, as he may be using a protected pot to push you off of the best hand. Otherwise, a good fold.

54o is a folding hand.
(9-5s is a raising hand.) /images/smile.gif
Button's raise on the flop could be a flush or straight draw, so I like your 3-bet and bet on the turn.
If you were 99% sure you were beat on the river, you should only call if you were getting 100-1 or better. I wouldn't be that confident I was beat.
Hope you had an enjoyable trip; enjoyed meeting you.
Regards,
Andy
Please forgive me, but when and where did you meet me?
Wrong Dan Z., never mind.
