View Full Version : Does this make me a fish?

Last night I'm playing 1/2 on Party. Somehow, I'm spewing chips... the table has turned a bit loose aggressive, and I think I'm playing my marginal hands kind of poorly (it seems whenever I push them, they don't come through, and whenever I bail, I would have won -- annoying). Plus, my good starters never seem to come through for me. After a run of good starters in the very beginning, I've been getting normal cards for awhile, and folding a lot. I've lost about a little over half my buy in.

Then after I fold to some guy on the turn or river of one hand, he starts picking at me -- calling me names, criticizing me for playing tight, etc. I pick back a bit in general -- not about his playing though, which has been pretty LAGish. Finally, two other folks at the table give HIM the standard lines: "Why are you bugging him? Do you want him to play better? Do yuo want him to leave?" We've all seen this happen, but I was very disturbed to find MYSELF being the one defended. Doesn't that make me the fish? Has anyone else been on the fish end of this familiar exchange before?

1. Don't get involved in the chat, and definitely don't take it seriously.

2. If you really think you've become the fish or are on tilt, leave the table, logoff Party, surf some porn, take a productive shower, etc...

3. If you have questionable hands, post them. That's what we're here for. (and for comments about surfing porn)

Heh... don't worry, I wasn't saying that as in "This is a huge terrible loss!" By the end of the night, I'd lost about 75BB over two tables -- much more than half my original buy in. I was just saying that to give some context and an idea of where things stood on that particular table at that point in time.

I think I have people on PS that follow me around play at my table. Probably casue the percieve me as being lagish. So be it. I think the reson the think I am lagish is becasue they are so passive. I want them to feel that way about me.

That way they come to where I play check their aces all the way to the river while I am betting a ower pair and when I river trips I take their money.

I was just being rude.

Does it really matter what other people are saying? Unless you knew everyone on that table was a good player I would totally disregard anything that was said....what the hell do they know anyway!
