Last night I'm playing 1/2 on Party. Somehow, I'm spewing chips... the table has turned a bit loose aggressive, and I think I'm playing my marginal hands kind of poorly (it seems whenever I push them, they don't come through, and whenever I bail, I would have won -- annoying). Plus, my good starters never seem to come through for me. After a run of good starters in the very beginning, I've been getting normal cards for awhile, and folding a lot. I've lost about a little over half my buy in.
Then after I fold to some guy on the turn or river of one hand, he starts picking at me -- calling me names, criticizing me for playing tight, etc. I pick back a bit in general -- not about his playing though, which has been pretty LAGish. Finally, two other folks at the table give HIM the standard lines: "Why are you bugging him? Do you want him to play better? Do yuo want him to leave?" We've all seen this happen, but I was very disturbed to find MYSELF being the one defended. Doesn't that make me the fish? Has anyone else been on the fish end of this familiar exchange before?
