This was the satellite to get into the Aussie Million tournament in Melbourne next January. There were 64 entrants, with only first place winning the trip and Aussie Million entry. Second through Fourth paid approx. $3300, $2K, and $1300.

Unfortunately, as you'll see below, I didn't last very long, thanks to Villain!

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed)

MP1 (t1015)
Hero (t885)
MP3 (t955)
CO (t1105)
Button (t645)
SB <font color="purple">(Villain)</font> (t1500)
BB (t915)
UTG (t870)
UTG+1 (t710)
UTG+2 (t940)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
<font color="666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t100</font>, <font color="666666">3 folds</font>, SB <font color="purple">(Villain)</font> calls t90, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>,

Flop: (t215) 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
Villain checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets t200</font>, Villain calls t200.

Turn: (t615) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Villain bets t90</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t585 (All-In)</font>, Villain calls t495.

River: (t1785) Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: t1785
<font color="green">Main Pot: t1785 (t1785), between Hero and Villain.</font> &gt; <font color="white">Pot won by Villain (t1785).</font>

Results in white below: <font color="white">
Villain shows 4h 9h (two pair, nines and fours).
Hero shows Kc Kh (one pair, kings).
Outcome: Villain wins t1785. </font>

Did I misplay this? It appears that there was no way to keep Villain from his, err, draw.

One way to play this would be to raise the turn to about 250. If he calls you can check the river down for free. If he puts you in you have to call. I think the way you played the hand is fine, but just offering up another option. Also, I might bet about 300 on the flop. If he calls you you have a much better idea of where you are. Espcially if he leads the turn after calling the flop.
