this is a hand that inspired some debate after i discussed it with a poker crony. All comments invited.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, <font color="CC3333">MP1 raises to t400</font>, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t1800</font>, MP1 calls t1400.

Flop: (t3650) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>

I have no idea why that should be a standard call, much less a raise. Why risk it all on a medium pair, when you will have several opportunities to wait for a better spot?
