If i never got one of these each SnG i doubt I'd ever win...gotta love luck when it slaps you on the face...5 handed at 400BB I lose all in with AQ to A3...but 3 hands later my A9 runs into AK...2 9's on the flop = the stack boost to go on to win...funny pushing that hand preflop was the only mistake I think I made, but turned out to be the most profitable...strange game at times...

I doubt that reliance on suck outs such as these is what causes you to win SnG's.
Ah 9h 456688 26.67 1182479 69.06 73137 4.27 0.288
Ac Kc 1182479 69.06 456688 26.67 73137 4.27 0.712

As you can see, you will only win this hand about 29 times out of 100. Superior play when you aren't in danger of busting out is what wins tourneys /images/graemlins/smile.gif

actualy Eder is right in a way.

When you start pushing to steal blinds you will get called here and there, and AK vs A9 is an extreme case, but you will be in a lot of 40% situations. You often need to hit these behind races to win SnGS.

The plain and simple fact is, luck is part of poker, and you cant win without it on a consistant basis.

This luck runs both ways in tournaments. Win some, lose some. You have to win some to win the game. Carefully applied aggression and a little luck takes the money. You must develop an instinct to take a possible coin-flip descision into play. There have been numerous threads about how to think about this and similar situations, and all those thought processes pass through your mind in like 15 seconds or faster. Your game is strong, you have some things to work on, as do we all. You have good instincts, keep it up!!!
