If you read my post you will notice that I am asking for advice and not complaining about a bad beat. All I wanted to know is if I played the hand correctly after the flop or not. Thanks anyway for you post Roman.

It's not a very dangerous board, I would have checked the turn with the intention of check-raising. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the way you played it postflop however.

fold it pf.
1) the board rarely comes 8 high
2) even if an ace hits i wont feel comfortable playing it
3) no flush or straight possibilities for semi-bluffing or winning big with little input.

dont play this hand and you would still be in the tournament

You could say this about any hand. You had valid reasons for suggesting folding in this situation, this is not one of them.

you know what i mean lol

i was just saying dont play that hand for a min raise with blinds at 10/20. its much better just folding the hand is what i meant i guess. im saying dont play a8o in general this early. im not telling him not to play AA because it might be your last hand

Yeah, I agree. A8o is not good enough to play from EP or MP at level 1. You just don't want to get in trouble, and if AJo is a trouble hand, you can imagine what A8o is..

Oh, I thought it was A8s, not A8o. I wouldn't play it either, but I hate the 'fold preflop' crowd, so my comments still apply. After all, the possibility of getting snapped off by 97 is not the reason we caution people against playing A8o.
