Hand 1: Raise more preflop, it's 600 more for him to call into a nearly 2000 pot. I would raise to something more like 1800 preflop.

Hand 2: I don't see how you can get away from this after the turn card. You could try pushing in, but he will almost certainly call with his straight-flush draw... though because of the draw heavy board and the size of your stack relative to the pot I always push the turn here.

I don't think you are going to get many more responses since I think Durron nailed it. Just be glad if you don't get a visit from the BAD BEAT POLICE on hand #2. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
