Hi all, long-time Sklansky reader and week-long 2+2 forum reader. I've been playing online poker on and off for about two years now, and being of the multi-table school I've always played 4 or 5 tables at once to make the long run come faster.

After reading SSHE and the posts on this board, I'm feeling seriously inferior about my post-flop play and would like to improve with your help, but first, a question on multi-tabling. Have people found multi-tabling to be more profitable at the small stakes? I've always been under the impression that multi-tabling 4 Party .50/1s would be a piece of cake, while 4 Party 2/4s might take a bit more effort. Is it better to multi four 1/2s, or play two 2/4s? What do you guys usually do?

Thanks in advance for all your help, I'm hoping that by participating on these boards I can become a much better player.

If you feel you're very weak post-flop than you need to stick to playing one table at a time until you improve. Otherwise you're just end up losing more money. Once you get better, multi-tabling shouldn't be a problem.

Just to clarify: by weak don't mean your average PartyPoker player weak. I've been pretty successful at the 1/2s on PartyPoker and PokerStars back in the day (never tried 2/4 due to constant cashing out of my bankroll for college use), and can consistently place in the money in Party 10+1 SNGs. What I meant was that I hadn't been incorporating some of the SSHE concepts that were kinda new. Thanks for the feedback though... I'm basically trying to figure out what tables to sit at for my latest comeback using SSHE techniques.

if you can 4 table 5./1, then you can 4 table 2/4.

Make sure you sit at the round ones, because if you end up on the corners of the square ones it really stinks.

P.S. We can't tell you what tables, until you tell us your BR.

Hahaha, good point. Around 500 or so?

You can do two tables of 1/2 to practice the new concepts. If you try to play 2/4 your risk of ruin will be extremely high, coupled with the fact that you may be playing in a style not familiar to you, RoR will go up even faster.

Even if you have been successful, whatever that means, there is much to learn I am sure. Go ahead and stick to 1/2 and post your hands in the micro forum, they will treat you well.

Steve, have you been keeping stats? How many hands have you played at which levels?

I'd say I have probably around 15000 (does this sound right?) hands of .50/1 experience, typically 4x.50/1 sessions of 500-750 hands. As for 1/2, I have around 5000 hands of experience on Pokerstars and Party. A typical session of 4x.50/1s can usually get me around 25-30 BBs, but again, it's .50/1.

Basically, I'm not a newb but I admit that my play is a bit on the weak-tight side, i.e. respecting opponents' reraises too much with TPTK, and not being aggressive enough with draws and non-TPTK. I'm convinced that I'm not getting the most number of bets that I can on pots where I have the best hand.

As for bankroll, I'm planning on committing $500-600, as well as a full-fledged commitment to start playing daily and improving my skills.

15,000 is probably enough to know that you can handle multitabling. With just 600-800 though, you should stay at 1/2 until you get above $1200

One more question. Is there some type of software that can keep track of both my and my opponents' stats, or do I have to do it by hand?
