This situation comes up so frequently in my play. I'd like some input on whether I'm playing this correctly.

Reads: Big Blind is fairly loose passive.

PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG folds, Hero raises, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO (poster) folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls $1 (All-In).

Should I be backing off here? There are now 2 hearts and two diamonds on the board. To me that is eliminating half of my outs (A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, K /images/graemlins/heart.gif and K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif) as being potentially bad. With my opponent being the BB and loose, he could have anything at this point.

River: (5.75 BB) 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: 5.75 BB

In this hand specifically, where you're heads up and against an opponent who doesn't have much bankroll left, I'm playing it the same way you did. Looking to get all-in, I would imagine the BB would bet out with any piece of the flop.

As a general rule on playing overcards though, it completely depends on the board. No matter what the flop looks like, if I raised PF and it's checked to me on the flop I'm usually betting.

The turn play becomes not just card dependant, but opponent dependant as well. Against calling station types, I generally take a free card on the turn, as I'm not taking down the pot with a bet.

Lots of times players that are almost busted will just try to get all their money in with anything. I would play it the same way you did. Theres a good chance you don't have to pair to win. Don't be that afraid of the flush possibilities when the whole hand has been played out headsup.
