View Full Version : Say you have A4 and the flop is 23K (flippant)
What do you call this draw? I mean, it's not a gutshot since the card you need is at the end of the sequence, not in the middle. Just a "one-card straight draw"? "Open-ended gutshot"?

I would call it a gutshot, for the same reason that I call any emails that I don't want to read "spam" when it originally meant numerous and unrelated posts to discussion groups. The meanings of words change over time based on use more than original (SAT WORD WARNING) etymological roots.

I meant it more as a joke than a dis. I'm sorry if I offended /images/graemlins/grin.gif
No problem, I hope you'll excuse my paranoia /images/graemlins/grin.gif

How's this "YOU'RE DRAWING TO A 5"
I think people are getting the (mistaken) impression that this is one of my hands. Just to be perfectly clear: I don't play crap like A2 /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No way. Last night on PP. Someone bet 35 into a 250 pot, everyone called (3 callers before me), I closed the action. My stack was around a grand. Implied odds to the yingyang. I called, hit and took down a 2400 pot. The bettor had been slowing playing two pair and called wouldn't let go. Beautiful.
But MOST times it's a bad move /images/graemlins/smile.gif.
