at 10/20 game and i was small blind. everyone folds to button and he limps in. i look down at AK offsuit and decide to limp in. BB checks. 3 way action. flop comes K/J/7 rainbow. i checked (looking for a check raise) and both players behind me checked. turn brings a 6 and i bet out. BB raises me (solid player) and i felt i was in trouble. button folds. river brings a Q and i bet out once again. he calls and flips over 6/7 for two pairs. i felt i totally screwed myself with this hand. opinions?

Raise PF! And bet the flop! You'd possibly have lost the hand still, though. I'd call the turn raise, and check-call the river, expecting to be beat a lot of the time.

Hmmmm, I don't think I would be able to fold AK headsup on the turn to his raise. I play pretty straight forward, tight-slightly aggressively.

Obviously you limped in from the blinds, hoping to check-raise your opponent(s) on a nice looking flop. In this case, you hit TPTK and the board didn't look too draw-happy, so setting up the trap looks fine to me. Unfortunately, one of your opponents caught his five-outer on the turn to make a better hand.

Make that same move 100 times, on that same flop, and you'll end up winning 4 out of 5 times. But 20% of the time, you'll lose. Nevertheless, I think limping with TPTK on a non-threatening flop is a +EV move...many second-best hands are likely to bet behind your check on the flop/turn and fall for your c/r trap.

Raise preflop, take their money while you still have the best hand, and don't succumb to this FPS urge.

you have to be kidding, after showing no strength preflop or on the flop he makes a turn bet that looks like a probable bluff or semibluff and then you want him to fold TPTK to a raise? I think its close between calling and 3betting. granted I wouldn't have gotten to this turn situation in the first place because I'd have raised preflop and bet the flop, but given this situation folding is absurd.
