3/6 local B&M. God, I love weekends at my local casino.
I don't tell stories as well as Bison, sfer, or some of the others but here goes:
Hero is button with A /images/graemlins/spade.gifJ /images/graemlins/club.gif. Four limpers to hero, hero raises. SB folds, BB calls, everyone else calls. 6 players to the flop.
Flop is QJ8 - all /images/graemlins/spade.gif. Checked to hero who bets, 2 callers.
Turn is the 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif. Checked to hero who bets. UTG now raises, other player folds, hero 3-bets, UTG caps, hero calls.
Ok, now let me 'splain myself here. UTG was not quite a maniac, but he was definitely on the extreme side of LAGgy. He had a tendency to raise on any scare card. He was a young-ish loud-ish Italian guy who seemed to enjoy trying to use his size and annoyingly loud voice to "bully" the table. He did have a really cool Arco golf shirt on though, I'll give him props for that.
Aaaaaaaaaaanyway, I really thought I had him beat when I 3-bet. He wasn't the type to check and call the flop with a big hand. I wasn't thrilled when he capped, but I knew he'd cap with less than the nuts so I figured I had any spade or jack as an out. If in fact I was even beat at this point. I'm curious to hear comments on the turn action, even if they are flame-y.
Lo and behold the river was a magical J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
UTG hems and haws about what a terrible river it was. Meanwhile, I watch women's (the Chinese women are strangely erotic) beach volleyball until he's done with his little speech. I then bet, UTG then calls. I turn over my hand and, as UTG is mucking, the lady to my immediate right asks to see his cards. Dealer flips over UTG's cards and shows...
*results in second post*

What should I have done on the turn given my read on the guy? Probably just called his check-raise?
