View Full Version : Estimate those checks

10 handed game with two late posters.

Decent UTG player raise.

Hero reraise in middle position with AKo.

The first poster, loose agressive, cold calls.

The other players fold, UTG calls.

Flop is 6h7h9c.

It went check, bet (from hero), call call.

Turn is 4s.

It went check, check, check.

Is this check a mistake? if yes, how much of a mistake?

The river is the 6s.

It went check by UTG, and the hero checks.

Is this check a mistake?

Not if you're going to call a bet from poster.

BTW, I'd have bet the turn.

I think your checks are fine. If hes a half decent player, hell put you on AK or a high pair. He is obviously saying he cant beat that, and after your turn check, he must know you dont have the high pair. I put him on AQ. If you bet, I doubt he calls, but if he has something like a pair of T's or J's, then you saved yourself money.

I was UTG with AJo and the ace of heart.

The way it played, tight hero probably had AQ or better, maybe QKs. (in that case it would be an hypothetic problem but anyway)

So, as any decent player would do, I was rooting for a bet by the agressive player to get rid of hero. It happened on the river and took down the pot.
