Any thoughts on the following would be most appreciated.
I was playing in the stars $215 today.
I have about 1,600 before the first break. I am the smallest stack at the table. The blinds are 50/100. I am holding Jh 6h in the big blind. A person in middle position and the button limp in before the flop. I check.
Flop comes 8h 5h 2h. I bet $350 (the amount the pot).
Middle position calls. Button raises to $2,000.(It seemed at the time that, given the large bet, the big raise by the button was a move to protect a weaker hand- maybe a small set or maybe a slow played overpair- post-flop from a flush draw.)
I call the raise. Middle position folds.
Button shows Kh, 4h. No help comes on the river.
Questions:
1) Was it wrong to call so early in the tournament without the nut, second, or third best nut flush hand?
2) Any better way to play the hand?
3) Any math wizzes know the odds of two players hitting the flush on the flop?
