In a friendly $40 single table home game with average to inexperienced players with Blinds at 50/100 and 1000 starting chips the following hand came up.

Short Stack #1 goes all-in pre flop for $250
Short Stack #2 goes all in pre flop for $400
Avg. Stack goes all in pre flop for $1000
Short Stack # 3 calls for $550

I am have 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif and $3000 chips.
The chip leader is on the button behind me with $4000 chips.

Do I call or fold?

Thanks in advance

I fold.

A large chunk of this pot is going to be heads up with the average stack, and 78s is not going to cut it.

You are only getting a little over 2-1 here and to beat the MP you are probably going to have to make a hand strong enough to win the entire pot (yes im aware you only need one pair to beat AK, but in general).

You are not 2-1 to make a hand big enough to win the entire pot, and you are giving MP an even money 500 bet on his cards beating your 78s.

What's the payout structure?

Thanks!

I did fold but sadly I would have hit the flush. When the players flipped their cards they had:

Short Stack #1 goes all-in pre flop for $250 55
Short Stack #2 goes all in pre flop for $400 AKc
Avg. Stack goes all in pre flop for $1000 QQ
Short Stack # 3 calls for $550 AJo

The Queens held up even though the river bough on the third heart.

At least I know now that I played it correctly.
