With so many callers, I thought I might be better off letting them bet it for me, figuring to lose most/all of them if I raised it. On the river I was afraid no one made a hand and they would all check. In retrospect, the amount I bet probably looked like I wanted callers.

With this coordinated board, I may actually bet this small and get them to pay a little to draw.

If they then hit their hand, you are made.

Edit: If you bet small and get a caller or two and then a potentially good card falls to give them a possible straight or flush, you can check raise as some people will try to bluff when the board gets scary, even if it's not the draw they were after.

I personally like to make the small bet and then check because it makes the pot big enough to be worth stealing.

I haven't read any responses but I just lead out at this flop since it is likely someone picked up a draw.

Hopefully I will get played back at.

Edit to say I read Lori's response and I agree completely, you have to bet small enough to price the people in. From my experience people chase flush draws almost equally regardless of pair on board. JT, 9T, 56 are all hands you hope someone has.

I love to check raise if a scare card hits, her point about building the pot is excellent.

How small? Like min bet or half the pot or?

I was thinking a click above the minimum, but basically you bet as much as you think you can get away with without going too high depending on the lineup at your particular table (like trying to make 21 without going bust /images/graemlins/smile.gif )

FWIW I would bet 80-100, you are giving people a pretty good price to enter, and building the pot. I for one pretty much never minimum bet into multiway pots so I wouldn't post oak it.

I guess if you get one or two callers you are golden.

the key really is getting someone dedicated to the pot so they will make a play at it, regardless of if they hit their draw
