espn has that snazzy 'projected season totals' thingy for players, so I decided to look at how the Cardinals' 3-5 hitters are projected to finish in 2004, and it's downright silly:
3. Albert Pujols 139r, 51hr, 129rbi, .324/.405/.651
4. Scott Rolen 122r, 40hr, 144rbi, .328/.414/.617
5. Jim Edmonds 108r, 43hr, 111rbi, .298/.415/.627
Oh, yea, and they got Larry Walker too. He's only hitting .370/.541/.741 with 3 homers in 27 at bats since the trade. I don't think it's stretch to say that this foursome (especially with the L R L R capability) could go down as one of the top 2 or 3 in baseball history. This STL lineup can certainly give the Yankees' 1920's Murderer's Row lineup a run for their money.
