That's the headline in the paper today with regards to our gymnasts team at the Olympics.

The headline is dead-on-accurate when it concerns tourney play in the late stages. A small mistake could end up costing you significantly and eliminating you all together from contention. I am talking about stages of the tourney when the blinds are so high that even with an average stack you are looking at possibly giving up 30-40% of your stack to test your hand till the flop. For example, your A-K that does not pair on the flop. Or your pair of Jacks that look defeated when you see an Ace or King or Queen (or even all of them!) on the flop. Now you have to retract with your stack lighter (assuming that you didn't get committed to the pot and lost your stack fighting the no-win situation!) and hope that when you get another similar hand the board would not end up disappointing you! An the next time around may be the last time you get to test your stack because it will cost you all of it just to test your hand! /images/graemlins/confused.gif
