View Full Version : One limper in late position?

Full table of ten players. Folded around to CO. CO limps...

For a good player...is there ever a reason to limp from late position rather than open-raise? Perhaps the answer is obvious, but this situation has been coming up a lot lately...so I throw it out to you...

Thanks in advance.

Only if:
1) you want to keep the button, small blind and/or big blind in, hoping they will call flop and/or turn bets. I will do this with AA and KK to try and get some action on the flop
2) or, you suck.

Not often enough to worry about it imo.

Hardly ever. That's pretty much raise or fold country.

Note that options 1 and 2 are *NOT* mutually exclusive...
