Why no river raise?

I'm curious as to what hand you put SB on?

I'd probably bet the turn.

Flop: (6 SB) 3, J, 8 (6 players)
***SB checks***, bdk3clash bets, UTG+1 raises, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, bdk3clash 3-bets, UTG+1 calls, Button calls, SB calls.

He would have checked OESD or QJ in that position?

You beat AJ, btw.

A set and then a whiffed c/r on the turn seems the most likely out of those I suppose, but do you really fear a set that much?

Yeah, good points. I guess not betting the turn may have screwed up my "what does a river bet mean" radar.

Was going for overcalls that bad? It doesn't expose me to a 3-bet and probably collect the same number of bets if I'm ahead, no?

Anyway, SB had T9 for the rivered straight.

I like going for overcalls here. 2 players to act behind you and after a check of the turn, they might call w/as little as A high.
