does anyone know of any in the U.S.?? i know they exist but i have never heard of them (probably b/c they are underground duh) or been to one. from what i know and am willing to bet i think there is better poker players than any of the pros we see on tv. obviously they don't come forward b/c no one at the card club would play against them. i guess this sounds a lot like teddy kgb and the underground card club in the movie rounders but i read that the directors went to one of those clubs and watched and sorta used what they saw to create the atmosphere. just a thing i have been thinking about. and i think money players are some of the best poker players around in some ways but i don't know which. thank you.

Vist the B&M forum. Tons of "underground" places. Visit Craigs List and do a Community search for Poker to see more.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, these underground legends just must not like money enough to sit in the biggest games in Vegas w/ Greenstein and the like.

meh?

Some of the name pros you see on TV started playing in "underground" games. I think I read that Lederer started out in some of the NYC clubs. And of course any of the old time gamblers like Doyle Brunson made their fortunes playing in these kind of games.

yea sorry i think i am wrong and lost that bet but i am sure there are a couple b/c they don't want to let there name out into the public view or else no one will play them again. i mean if johnny chan walks into a casino not many people will sit down with him.

Are you kidding? Where do you think these guys make all their money? People would be lined up to take a shot a beating a world champ ... this is probably the msot accurate part of the movie "Rounders".

If you don't believe me, go watch the tables at Full Tilt poker whenever a pro sits down to play.
