another crappy week in the battle of the earn - all up i played about 11,000 hands of 6 max, 40 $200SNG's, and the usual selection of pot limit omaha, draw, and 7 card stud - the week finishes with me down $1,200 - i havent checked but my once substantial lead has likely dissapated to about square - not good
43o haunted me all week - it started spectacularly in a 15/30 6 max game - i got AA in the BB and had 5 limpers to me - the flop was A 5 2 and UTG had open limped with 43o - as no pair, flush, or other straight hit this cost me full price on the turn and river - $688 pushed to the other guy - that was tuesday - wednesday QQ got nailed on a 4 3 3 flop in a 10/20 game when the button over limped with it - and today 66 went poorly when the cutoff over limped with it and the flop was 5 6 7
these people are going to pay - soon
2 weeks ago after the first of what is now 3 crappy weeks i resolved to check out the 1/2 6 max game - i didnt do it straight away because i wasnt going to do anything that looked like taking a break from my usual 6 max diet whilst travelling lousy - the plan is to gain some perspective - i'm intrigued by the fact that the best strategy for holdem changes depending on the general nature of your opposition - it means that flexibility is a must and if you play the same game all the time you will be prone to lose sight of those different dimensions - plus i often proffer a view about how to play this game yet i only have a few thousand hands of doing it myself and half of that occured in a drug induced haze
5,000 hands of 1/2 6 max - should only take 2 days - i have no target although i have a particular interest in playing from the blinds in this game and i would like not to lose from the SB - i suspect its doable
usual rules - only posters from the short handed forum from the last week and its not neccesary to nominate suits to win - this weeks hand features a guy called RedBullVodka - he is very bad at poker - i expect to see more of him - according to pokertracker he has had a sensational week going around at 8BB's/100 hands whilst seeing more than half the flops - this guy is now an addicted poker player
i get AdQs UTG+1 and open raise - cutoff folds - RedBullVodka cold calls on the button - SB folds and the BB calls
flop is Kc 10c 4h - check/bet/call/fold
turn is 4d - bet/call
river is 2c - check/bet/call
