I play fixed tourneys just dandy, but when it comes to NL I always seem to pick the exact wrong times to make plays.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed)

Hero (t2125)
MP (t6445)
Button (t1100)
SB (t1915)
BB (t1915)

Blinds 75/150

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Hero calls t150, MP folds, Button calls t150, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t600) 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets t300, Button calls t300, SB folds, BB folds.

Turn: (t1200) Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero bets t300, Button raises to t600, Hero raises to t900, Button calls t50 (All-In).

River: (t2750) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t2750

Now with 5 left I am normally open raising with any hand I am going to play, but I froze up here as I couldnt determine a proper amount to raise and/or what I wanted from my opponents. And how about the turn?

And heres a couple of laydowns that I dont know if they are a good play or just weak.

Same tourney
Blinds 100/200 for both

Hero (t1750)
BB (t6445)
UTG (t1725)
MP (t1990)
Button (t1590)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG folds, MP folds, Button folds, Hero raises to t500, BB raises to t6645, Hero folds.

Hero (t775)
SB (t6545)
BB (t2500)
UTG (t1990)
MP (t1690)
Preflop: Hero is Button with 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG folds, MP raises to t1200, Hero folds, SB folds, BB folds.

In the first hand it's doubtful that your opponent is bluffing you on the turn. However since you bet the same amount on the turn, as you did on the flop, it looks like you want him to fold.

You should scale your bet up on the turn if your going to continue with the hand, and it's an easy fold to a raise.

The AJ hand you should have moved in to begin with, but called his raise in that scenario.

I think your folding of 99 is good.

Hand #1: I would raise this 3xBB to at least try and pick up the blinds here. I don't like your reraise on the turn though. Did you really think you were still ahead here?

Hand #2: Since you only have 8.75xBB here its all-in or fold mode.

Hand #3: Depends on your read of MP. If he's really tight I may fold but the problem is your so short stacked that your about to be blinded away anyway so its probably best to take your shot against overcards and hope they don't hit.

I dont know. Hence my problem, His raise puts him almost all in, I dont know if this is a desperation bluff or a good hand raise.

My reraise wasnt really a reraise, it was essentially just getting the rest of his chips in the pot as he probably just hit the raise button without realizing his stack had 50 left. This might be an indication of a player who isnt paying much attention and hence probably is bluffing, I stress might.

BTW he showed AJo.
